Tommy John autographed game baseball. Single-signed last out, game-used ball from his second win as a Dodger! On April 29, 1972 John defeated the Mets at Dodger stadium, 11-1, pitching a complete game in the process. This is the ball that struck out Mets’ hitter Jim Beauchamp in the ninth inning to end the contest. Catcher Dick Dietz presented it to John as they walked off the field. John added the following period inscription across the SS: “Dodgers 11-1/NY Mets/April 29, 1972.” And he later added his signature to the South panel in blue ink. A nice game-relic from the career of the winningest 20th century pitcher not yet in the hall of fame and obtained from him. Also accompanied by a printed boxscore from the game!
