Herman Hill signed rookie card. Hill's 1970 Topps card #267 boldly signed in blue ballpoint ink. Hill played 16 and 27 games, respectively, as a September call up in 1969 and 1970. But his promising career was cut tragically short on December 14, 1970. On a day off from his winter ball assignment in Venezuela, Hill went to a local beach. After wading into the surf, he was swept away in a violent rip tide that claimed the young ballplayer’s life. He was only 25. His autograph is an enormous rarity and is nearly extinct in any form. His rookie card was produced and distributed less then six month before he died, making it unquestionably the key to collecting a complete 1970 signed set. We are proud to offer here the most significant medium beneficiary of his coveted signature that we have ever seen and arguably the most rare of any signed Topps card produced in the last 40 years.
